When the narrative becomes someone’s identity, the truth doesn’t just threaten their argument – it threatens their existence.
Have you noticed that there’s almost no civil discourse coming from the left anymore?
No honest
debate.
No curiosity.
No
evidence-based conversation.
Just insults…
screaming…
name-calling…
and more
profanity than ever.
Let me break down why - and why it was inevitable.
This isn’t political. It’s psychological.
When I say “ego,” I’m not talking about arrogance. I’m talking about identity - who someone believes themselves to be.
This is why you hear the term ‘identity politics.’ Because for many on the left, politics isn’t a viewpoint…it’s a self-definition.
And here’s the root of the problem:
They were
raised, taught, and socially conditioned by institutions with a political
mission - not an educational one.
They weren’t taught how to think. They were taught what to think.
So, their identity was built on a political narrative, not on truth, morality, or personal development.
When the narrative becomes the identity… the identity becomes fragile.
Here is the emotional chain reaction:
• The
argument is challenged
• The
worldview is threatened
• The
identity begins to shake
• Panic sets
in
This isn’t disagreement. This is existential fear.
They’re not defending a position, they’re defending themselves.
And when a
person feels their identity cracking, they don’t debate the facts. They attack
the person delivering them.
Most conservatives were raised with faith, moral grounding, and the understanding that humans can learn, change, and be forgiven.
We know how to say:
“I was
wrong.”
“I learned
something.”
“I need to
grow.”
But the modern left removed the God factor entirely.
Without God, there is no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no humility. Without humility, there is no way to say: “I made a mistake.”
So, while conservatives seek understanding, they can only seek elimination of the threat. Because they have no internal mechanism for self-correction.
Picture someone who spent a decade believing:
Trump is
evil.
Trump is a
dictator.
Trump is the
danger.
Trump
supporters are brainwashed.
Their media reinforced it.
Their social
circles rewarded it.
Their ego
formed around it.
Now imagine them finally seeing undeniable evidence that contradicts everything they believed.
It creates a terrifying realization:
“If I was wrong about this… then who am I?”
Most people cannot face that.
So, they fight harder to protect the lie - because accepting the truth feels like death of the self.
Once identity is at stake, logic disappears. They can’t win with facts. Reality isn’t on their side. Their worldview collapses if they admit even one truth.
So, they use the only weapon they have left:
Personal
destruction.
Mock.
Slander.
Smear.
Cancel.
Character
assassination.
Emotional
warfare.
This is exactly what they’ve done to Donald Trump since day one.
If you cannot defeat someone’s results, you must destroy their identity.
If you cannot
win the argument, you must silence the opponent.
There are only two strategies in politics:
① Offer real
ideas, real policies, and real results.
② Destroy
your opponent personally so people vote emotionally instead of logically.
The left cannot do the first - their ideas do not work. So, they rely entirely on the second.
Moral panic →
emotional outrage → character destruction → emotional voting.
That’s the
formula.
When someone builds their identity on ideology instead of on God, morality, truth, or personal growth…they don’t debate.
They don’t
reflect.
They don’t
grow.
They defend
the lie, because the lie is holding their identity together.
when they
rage…
when they melt down…remember:
They’re not
arguing with you.
They’re
arguing with reality - and losing.
